Phases of the Project

Phase 1: User requirements specification in order to define which information should be represented, in audio, which in tactile and which in audio-tactile form.

Phase 2: Development of audio-tactile symbols. It covers the design of pilot AT-symbols, the construction of pilot AT-maps, testing of AT- symbols and AT- symbols specification activities. The results will be presented at our multi-lingual website.

Phase 3: Development of audio-tactile material which will be freely available on the project’s website. Creating a web-based electronic library of audio-tactile symbols and the construction of a political-physical audio-tactile atlas.

Phase 4: Creation of training material for trainers and end-users to enable them to produce audio-tactile maps for IVIs.

Phase 5: Offering several seminars to people who will create audio-tactile material.
